Derek’s Perspective!

Nearly sleepless nights, coffee packed days and noise all around… it sounds like a residential!

So just the other week (as you can see in previous posts) that we took a number of young people away on a residential. Amidst all the craziness I think that the young people learnt a lot getting to do the outdoor activities. They all had to work together as a team, oh and get pretty muddy. It was amazing getting to see them bring out their potential and push through different situations which they originally believed they couldn’t face.

In the end the lower amounts of sleep and higher amounts of noise, has definitely been worth it!

I would also like to leave you all with a little good bye note. So as we knew my time here at the Canaan Project would come to an end because I am on a University placement. I am so privileged to have spent my time here, getting to develop my Youth Work practice and make a difference in young people’s lives. The team here have been a great help, and such an amazing group to work alongside. Thank you all for such a great time!

Derek signing off, and good night.
