We had an interesting conversation with a group of young women this week about their upcoming work experience, as some of the young people in the group were not sure what they wanted to do for it. As we talked through the different job options the young people began to share fears they had about the world of work and leaving school.  After suggesting they could try working with someone they knew, two group members announced that they didn’t know anyone who had a job! An important part of what the Canaan Project does is to help young people during the sometimes scary transition into adulthood, this includes encouraging young people to have aspirations for their futures and helping them to understand how they can get there.  Next week we are really excited to have the premiere of our new film we made with a group of young women called ‘I want to be…’ which explores some of the aspirations they have for their futures. Check out the blog next week to view it!
