Endings and Beginnings

‘What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.’ T S Eliiot, ‘Four Quartets’

This Blog is a personal blog from me (James Fawcett), I am going to leave the Canaan Project at the end of August 2013. It has been an amazing journey for the last 5 1/2 years! I have learnt so much and thank the Canaan Project for allowing me to grow, experiment and develop over this time. I have learnt so much personally, and professionally, the young people have been incredible and taught me so much! I am moving to Cambridge with my wife Laura and she is going to train to be a Priest and I am going to be doing some child care for my daughter and I am exploring avenues to keep my ‘hand in’ with the Youth Work!

The Trustees have appointed a new Project Manager and that is Fiona Harriss, she will be starting her new role on the 1st July bringing with her a fresh vision (of which we will share next week). This is really exciting Fiona brings a wealth of experience and a clear passion for working with young people in Tower Hamlets. She has developed some amazing work with young women over the past few years that is a ‘stand out’ example of good practice. I’m excited for the future and am sure Fiona will move the charity on in an incredible way.

Over and out, James.
