Lian Jacobs- Director
Lian joined the Canaan Project in January 2025. Although she still loves her home town of Birmingham, we’re working on convincing her that she’s making the best decision she’ll ever make by making the East End her home. Lian is a JNC qualified youth worker with many years of experience managing a variety of youth focused projects as well as developing and running her own Confidence course for young women. With so much energy, vision and experience- It’s great to have her leading our team!
Tendress Leshe - Young Womens’ Worker
Tendress affectionately known as ‘T’ is our newest team member. She joined us in March 2026.

Clare joined the team in September 2025.
Delaney Candland- Senior Young Women’s Worker
Delaney joined us in October 24! Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Delaney moved to the UK to study her MA in youthwork and did her first placement with us at Canaan. We loved her so much that we jumped at the chance to offer her a job. Delaney has a background in social work and loves supporting young people- watching them grow into their best selves. She enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her friends.
Steve Willcox- Finance and Office Assis

Steve joined Canaan Project in November 2021 and is an experienced voluntary sector finance specialist with management accounting and book-keeping skills. Steve has worked as a Finance Officer for community organisations in need of part-time skilled finance support for more than fifteen years.
Kateryna Tsybenko- Fundraising Lead
Ukraine born Kateryna joined us in April 2026 as our new Fundraising Lead. She is passionate about fundraising and supporting the work that we do by connecting Canaan Project to funders who align with our values and programmes.
