Rolling Away

It has been a full-on term since Christmas and all of a sudden we found ourselves last week in the half-term break, once again. As always at Canaan Project, we long to give the girls we support new experiences, so what better place to take them than to a roller-skating park? We must admit it was harder than it looks, but so much fun. With a DJ playing decent tunes we put the heavy shoes with wheels on our feet and unsteadily stood up! … and some of us fell over… But the girls kept going, kept skating, kept trying. We were so proud of them for persevering with something they’ve never tried before.

We’re already looking forward to being inspired by our young women next half-term. Where should we take them? Go-Karting?"
